 About

Mission Statement

My desire as a teacher is to introduce each student to the lifelong joy of making and listening to music. The acoustic piano has its own beautiful, resonant voice and a rich and continuing heritage of piano literature. Individual and group learning experiences provide the opportunity for every student to grow and to value creating sensitive and expressive music.

Founder’s Notes

I make every effort to provide quality piano study for each student. My participation in professional organizations, clinics, and workshops keeps me abreast of new developments in music teaching. I also keep an extensive music library so that each student may have individually chosen materials that represent a variety of music styles.

Parents play a crucial role in making the pursuit of an instrument successful. Their vision and encouragement set the stage for the implementation of more practical skills, including learning how to practice with purpose and proficiency and persevering over the longer pursuit of mastery and enjoyment of the instrument. Parents are invited to set up a parent-teacher conference or phone call as the need arises. Each piano student should be given many opportunities to hear good music. Parental support and encouragement of the student when he/she has the opportunity to perform in group lessons, recitals, school performances, and family gatherings are invaluable.

Each student will have opportunities to participate in many different kinds of activities to enrich their musical learning. Class lessons, Performers Circle, Master Class, Recitals, National Guild Audition, Ensemble Festival, Maryland State Theory Exam, and Scholarship for Performance Competition are some of the studio programs.
